37th MONTGOMERY ART GUILD MUSEUM EXHIBITION

Sponsored by the Montgomery Art Guild, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Alabama Power Foundation and Whitney Bank

JUROR: Clifton Pearson, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Art at Montevallo University will be the juror for the 37th Montgomery Art Guild Museum Exhibition. Professor Pearson received his Ed.D in studio ceramics, glass, art education and educational administration from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He has taught art in Alabama institutions of higher education since 1973, and is widely recognized for his work in studio ceramics.

TOTAL OF $5,000 IN AWARDS
Monetary awards include Best of Show, two Merit Awards, two Honorable Mentions, the MMFA Foy Gilmore Goodwyn Memorial Fund Award of $1,000, and the Emily B. Gassenheimer Memorial Purchase Award of $2,500 (see paragraph below.) PURCHASE AWARD EMILY B. GASSENHEIMER MEMORIAL PURCHASE AWARD OF $2,500 To be awarded to the artist who shows an enthusiasm for creativity and demonstrates knowledge, maturity, and inventive use of medium and/or materials. The award-winning work will be donated by the Montgomery Art Guild to a Montgomery non-profit or educational institution for public display. GOODWYN AWARD The MMFA Foy Gilmore Goodwyn Memorial Fund Award of $1,000 is a merit award given by the Museum.
